How can I improve my softball pitching?

I’m wondering if there are any tactics or training excersizes to help me improve my softball pitching.

Anything will be helpful!

Thanks!!!

I have several warm up drills that help you with your technique. First do "wrist snaps" you stand close to your catcher about 1 foot away and stand sideways flip/flick/snap your wrist hard. Second "Slap and Snaps" you stand farther away like a little more than 5 feet and stand facing sideways and put your arms together with the ball in your pitching hand and at the same time bring both arms down (for right handed ppl) let your left arm slap your left thigh while at the same time your right hand snaps the ball as hard as you can to the catcher and remember to follow through with your arm. Third do the "Flamingo" (for righties. if lefty do opposite arms) stand facing sideways with your left side to the catcher and lift your left leg like a flamingo and then do the exact same thing as the "Slap and Snap" just with one leg up then steping sideways while dragging the other toe. Then just do your regular pitching and remember to drag your toe, follow through with your arm and don’t do a crows hop. good luck! keep trying!

I’m sure you have already heard this but have someone videotape you. When you watch it back you can see what you did wrong. Another thing that I found helpful was pitching on a balance beam. It helped keep my shoulders open. Then, there is always the weighted ball. My pitching coach gave me one he made with a nail gun, but you can buy them pretty much anywhere. This will really help pick up your velocity. Just be careful not to try and throw it as hard as you can. The weighted ball only works with a smooth motion, not a fast one. There’s also the pitching puck. It’s shaped like a hockey puck, but has seems on it. This will really help out with your breaking ball pitches because it will only have proper spin if you have a proper snap. Otherwise it will just wobble to the catcher. And then there’s always having a pitching coach, which is where you will probably learn the most, as well as good ol’ practice. Good luck and have fun!!
